Reflecting on 2024 in our advent calendar

In late 2024, DFDS introduced electric trucks in Finland, providing a more sustainable logistics option for our customers. This expansion highlights our commitment to advancing supply chain decarbonisation across Europe.

In episode two of our advent calendar, Niklas Andersson from DFDS surprises Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, with the news of our growing fleet of electric trucks.

Turning vision into reality with dedication

At the beginning of 2024, DFDS electric trucks were operating in four countries. With expansions into Finland, Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands, the year will close with electric trucks active in eight countries. This doubling of market presence reflects DFDS's commitment to advancing the electric truck transition and delivering sustainable logistics solutions across Europe.

DFDS electric trucks are now employed in various supply chains, including steel, automotive, and cold chain logistics. Their successful operation in Finland’s harsh winter conditions highlights their reliability and adaptability to different environments.

"We are pleased to be deploying electric trucks in Finland, which will enable us to support more companies that want to decarbonise their supply chains. DFDS is committed to doing whatever we can to push the development forward.” – Mikko Kakko, Managing Director Finland and Estonia, DFDS Logistics
