Many families do not immediately think of England when they think of a holiday with children. But the south of England has a lot to offer! It is an ideal holiday destination and there is plenty to see and do. Visit the capital London, spend a day at the beach in south-west England or go to one of the theme parks such as Paultons Park Home, Peppa Pig World or Legoland. Do your kids love knights and princesses? In southern England, you can also admire the most beautiful castles. It is a great holiday destination for the whole family.

Londen

Visiting a big city with the kids? Then go to London! London is extremely child-friendly. There are beautiful city parks, exciting attractions and interactive museums. There are many child-friendly hotels in the city and the city is easy to explore by public transport so that you do not have to drive through the busy streets of London in your own car. Children up to 11 years travel for free and you can buy the Oyster Card from the machine at the station. In addition, you can also get a discount at many attractions with the Oyster Card.

Are your children crazy about animals? Then visit the London Zoo or the Sea Life London Aquarium. Or go to the gardens of the Horniman Museum. The children can do a treasure hunt along all the special flowers and plants in the garden.

The coast of South England

Along the coast of southern England there are a lot of child-friendly holiday parks and campsites. Along the coast you can find beautiful beaches such as Brighton Beach, Porthcurno Beach or Polzeath Beach (where children can also take surfing lessons!) If you have some more time, the Isle of Wight is a great place to go. This is a beautiful little island with beautiful beaches, a zoo, castles and green parks where you can have a picnic.

If you want to visit different places in the South of England, it is useful to buy a 9 or 16 day English Heritage Pass. A 9 day family pass for 2 adults + up to 4 children costs around €75. With this pass you have access to over 100 historical attractions including Stonehenge and Dover Castle.

Castles and amusement parks

Dover Castle

There are also many amusement parks in the South of England. The most popular is probably Legoland near London. Which child has not played with the popular Lego blocks! You can stay here in the magical Legoland Resort Hotel or in the Legoland Castle Hotel where you have a real knight's room. For the younger children, a visit to Paultons Park Home or Peppa Pig World is recommended. Two new attractions have now opened! Your child will have an unforgettable day.
