Stavanger – summer, city and mountains for the whole family
Summer in Norway equals white wooden houses, idyllic archipelagos and lavish nature. How about taking the family on a road trip to Stavanger via the south coast and the countryside around Setesdal and Dalen?
From Oslo you can drive along the beautiful south coast to cozy Kristiansand. Here you can have a nice swim at the beach in the city, Bystranda, and then have lunch at the fishing harbour. It is also a perfect chance to visit Dyreparken in Kristiansand, which is Norway's largest animal park.
The road trip then continues to Stavanger. Here you can combine a city break with excursions to some of the most spectacular mountain hikes in Norway. Visit the majestic mountain plateau Preikestolen and see the beautiful Lysefjord or take a trip to Lifjellet.
