Geilo is a classic winter sports resort and one of the most complete and popular Norwegian ski destinations. Geilo is a skiing holiday for the whole family - both beginners and practiced.
It is no coincidence that Geilo has been a favorite winter destination for generations. Here are great combinations for cross-country and downhill skiing, and you can also go snowboarding. There are plenty of slopes for the alpine slides, 40 slopes and 26 lifts with a lift capacity of 23,000 pers / hour. The ski area in Geilo is divided into two main areas, which are located on either side of the Ustedalsfjord. The two areas are connected by ski bus, so you can easily change area.
A classic and popular ski resort
For the cross-country people there are 220 km of trails spread over 50 km in valley and forest terrain and 170 km in mountain terrain. In Geilo, there are both demanding and light routes, among others. a 10 km tour of the Ustedalsfjord - very suitable for families with children. On the mountain trails pass several cabins, from which there is serving. In addition, there is a 5 km beacon for an evening stroll.
You can also take the kids on a canoe trip - or let them fool around in the Troll Club while the skis are replaced with a snowmobile.
