For example, take a city walk along the River Tyne and the Grays Monument or discover the history of the city at Newcastle Castle. If the sun is shining you can spend the afternoon in one of the city parks or catch the tube to Tynemouth for a trip to the seaside.
Newcastle is also very suitable for shopping. It is a compact city and the shopping streets and MetroCentre shopping center are within easy reach. A visit to Newcastle is not complete without a visit to Fenwick, Newcastle's largest department store. Newcastle is described as the shopping city of Northern England!
