Loch Lomond
The enchanting Loch Lomond is located in the heart of the National Park, surrounded by beautiful countryside, rolling hills and charming villages like Drymen and Helensburgh. Explore the most beautiful lake in Scotland and the many small islands on a boat tour or follow one of the many well-marked trails. The popular long-distance trail "West Highland Way" starts north of Glasgow and continues along the eastern shore of Loch Lomond to Fort William. Choose the charming Winnock Hotel if you want to stay in the middle of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
Stirling & Falkirk
Already visible from afar is the Stirling Castle, which sits on a hill above the small town with a great history. Visit historic sites and enjoy the spectacular views from the Wallace Monument over the Forth Valley. The old town of Stirling offers great shopping, cozy cafés and quaint pubs. For example, you can stay in the Old Churches House in Dunblane nearby.
The area around Falkirk is well-known for some of the most outstanding sights and offers many leisure activities for the whole family. Admire the world's only rotating ship lift. Also worth seeing are the two giant horse head sculptures made of 300 tons of steel in the park landscape "The Helix" - The Kelpies are a popular photo opportunity. A night at the elegant Airth Castle Hotel, just 10 km from Falkirk, is also a special highlight.
