Press Release
DFDS presents a NEW exhibition as part of a €4.6 million renovation investment
DFDS' Dunkerque Seaways will be the first of three ships on the Dunkirk-Dover route to unveil its new look following a €4.6 million refurbishment.
In a world that is constantly on the move, with many customers travelling long distances, the ability to relax comfortably during the journey is highly valued. That's why, as of 17 February 2020, passengers on the Dunkerque Seaways who are looking for peace and quiet will be able to enjoy the new relaxation lounge, which is equipped with high quality recliners with soft lighting to create the ideal relaxing atmosphere. A free Karma box from Rituals is also available. Prices start from €7 per person.
The ship's premium lounges have been completely refurbished with comfortable furnishings and modern décor to provide the luxurious and peaceful environment that passengers seek. These private lounges are open 24 hours a day and are available to all ages, starting at €12 per person each way. Passengers can enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco, quality snacks and pastries, hot or cold drinks and hot dishes available from the premium lounge menu.
The Horizon restaurant has been rolled out to all three ships on the Dunkirk-Dover route following its success on the Calais-Dover routes. Customers can enjoy a selection of freshly prepared dishes to order. Passengers can place their order, take an alarm to their table and collect their meals when called.
Passengers will also benefit from new sanitary facilities throughout the ship and will be able to watch TV in the Lighthouse Café, with new TVs recently installed.
Steve Newbery, commercial director of BU Short Routes and DFDS passenger said.
"This is a very exciting refurbishment programme which builds on the successes achieved last year with our Lighthouse Café and demonstrates our commitment to improving the passenger experience on board our DFDS ferries.
We are confident that these improvements will help our passengers to relax further and give them the best possible start to their journey. Many of the changes are in response to ideas and suggestions from our customers. I look forward to hearing from our passengers.
The remaining Delf Seaways and Dover Seaways ships will be fully refurbished from 1 March and the end of March 2020 respectively.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted, and to our passengers, colleagues and partners who contribute to our continued success – we couldn’t do it without you all.
