DAY 1

Whether you arrive at our Dunkirk or Calais port, there is already a fun-filled morning waiting for you!

Dunkirk – With over 15km of beaches and dunes, it is the perfect opportunity to take a leisurely morning stroll. Wander over to the markets to stock up on your local cheeses, wine and bread. They are regularly held in Place du Général de Gaulle, the Rosendael district and Malo les Bains.

Dunkirk is also perfect for the history buffs! Visit nearby Malo les Bains to see one of the locations for the evacuation of British troops from Dunkirk during WW2, or visit Espace Tourville and immerse yourself in the maritime history of the area.

Calais – Spend your morning riding on the back of a giant dragon, and see it breathe fire as it parades down Calais seafront! The Compagnie du Dragon is not something to miss!

If you’re feeling peckish, head down to Rue Royale – the city’s most popular high street, now home to a wide range of boutiques, cafes and bars. Try some of the local cheeses, including Ecume de Wimereux or Sablé de Wissant.

After a morning of adventure, jump back in the car for a quick drive to Lille – the largest city in Northern France. Explore the museums, galleries, cathedrals, churches and historic buildings.

You can also find a charging station for your car in the city centre, close to Citadel Park and Zoo, which houses around 400 animals and is free to visit!

DAY 2

Next stop, Ghent – one of Europe’s best kept secrets! This city in Belgium is known for its picturesque views and spectacular medieval architecture. With a large canal system, you can even venture around the city by boat.

Ghent, Belgium

Ghent is full of life, so it is likely you will be able to visit one of their many festivals during your stay. These include: the Music Festival, the Jazz Festival in the park, the Cultural Festival, the Film Festival, the Light Festival, the Port Festival and the OdeGand – where music is played along Ghent’s canals (and includes KidsOdeGand for children aged four and over).

Don’t forget, there are over 100 charging points in Ghent, so plenty of opportunities to charge your car!

DAY 3

It’s only an hour’s drive from Ghent to Belgium’s capital, Brussels! Packed with museums, cafés, bistros and outdoor terraces, there is plenty to keep you busy. Visit the Belgian Comic Strip Centre to learn more about Tin Tin, the Smurfs and other comic book favourites, or race to Avenue Louise to do some designer shopping.

Today is also the perfect day to try all of Belgian’s sweet treats. Indulge in some waffles, chocolates and pastries, and wash it all down with a fresh cold Belgian beer.
