• Please have your passports ready for inspection at passport controls & the DFDS check-in point to ensure a speedy process

• Please exercise pets before arriving at port and ensure you have everything you need for their welfare

Dart Charge – Payment arrangements at the Dartford Tunnel

Operation Stack

• On arrival please join the tourist check-in via the DFDS check-in booths
• At check-in you will be issued with your lane hanger which displays the lane number you need to proceed to
• French Passport Controls - have your passport ready for inspection
• UK Border Force – have your passport ready for inspection
• Security – you may be called into the security hall for inspection or have a vehicle inspection
• Arrive at assembly lanes, keep an eye on departure screens and announcements for embarkation
• Boarding should commence 25-30 minutes before sailing
• You will be able to visit Duty Free Shop / toilets while your car is waiting in its lane
• A DFDS representative will direct you to the vessel.
• Once onboard follow the instructions of the car deck crew who will assist you where to park
• Take note of your deck number and the colour of stairwell into the passenger areas

Please note: the Tyne Tunnel will not be accepting cash. You can purchase a pre-payment card or pay online by midnight the day after your journey. Find out more about the Tyne Pass here.

Road traffic will be diverted as part of the restoration of the Colbert Bridge. For pedestrians, a footbridge has been installed. An alternate route will be indicated for cars. Please find out more about the project and diversions here.
